Silken Tofu in secret sauce

Want something simple and easy but also nutritious? We are braising Tofu in flavorful sauce, pairing with Shiitake Mushrooms and fresh Baby Bok Choy. Deliciously flavored Tofu with umami of Shiitake Mushrooms and bright fresh vegetables really makes this a family favorite. The best thing is that this can be done in just under 20 minutes!

Ingredients:
SAUCE
Vegetable Stock - 1/2 cup
Soy Sauce - 1.5 tbsp
Black Vinegar - 0.5 tbsp
Sesame Oil - 1 tbsp
Sugar - 0.5 tbsp
Corn Starch - 1 tbsp
OTHER
Silken Tofu - 300g
Cooking Oil - 2 tbsp
Garlic - 20g
Scallions (white part) - 8g
TOPPINGS
Coriander - 15g
Scallions - 15g
Sesame Seeds - 10g
Fresh Chillis - 1 green / 1 red
Instructions:
Take silken tofu out of the container, and place it on the plate or bowl that you are going to serve it in.
Drain the excess liquid
Put a large wok/pan onto stove (medium heat), pour about 1 inch of hot water and create a steamer.
Steam the tofu for a few minutes while preparing the sauce and toppings.
Make the sauce by mixing vegetable stock (1/2 cup), soy sauce (1.5 tbsp) , black vinegar (0.5 tbsp), sesame oil (1 tbsp), sugar (0.5 tbsp) and corn starch (1 tbsp), and set it aside
Chop some of your favorite toppings - I am using scallions, coriander, sesame seeds and fresh chillis
Finely chop 20g of garlic and scallions
Then make the sauce by heating a small pan on stove with 2 tbsp of cooking oil
Sauté minced garlic (20g) and white parts of scallions (8g) for about 1 minute or until golden
Pour the sauce into the pan
Stir and simmer for a few minutes until the sauce thickens, then take it off the stove
Take the tofu out of the steamer and drain the excess liquid
Pour the sauce over the tofu, and put toppings
The dish is now ready to serve - enjoy!
